In this hands-on hand-building pottery class for kids ages 5-13, young artists will discover the fun and creativity of working with clay! Students will learn three essential hand-building techniques—coil, pinch, and slab construction—to create their own unique pottery pieces. Whether shaping a coil-built vase, pinching a bowl, or building a textured slab plate, children will explore how to transform clay into functional and decorative art. Guided by an experienced instructor, they'll also have the chance to add personal details and textures to their creations. This class fosters creativity, problem-solving, and fine motor skills while offering a relaxing and enjoyable experience. By the end of the course, kids will proudly take home their handcrafted pottery, showcasing their newfound skills and imagination!

In this fun and imaginative hand-building pottery class for kids ages 5-13, students will use clay to bring their fantasy creatures to life! They’ll explore three essential hand-building techniques—coil, slab, and pinch—while creating unique, one-of-a-kind creatures inspired by their favorite mythical animals. Whether making a dragon, unicorn, or a magical creature of their own design, kids will learn how to shape, texture, and add personality to their creations. Guided by a skilled instructor, they’ll build confidence and creativity as they work with clay. This class encourages imaginative thinking and fine motor skills while introducing kids to the magic of pottery. At the end of the session, each child will have a set of whimsical, handcrafted creatures to take home and display!

 Get ready for an exciting and educational art camp with the amazing Miss Miranda, perfect for 9 - 14 year olds eager to dive into the world of pottery! Your child will have a blast creating their very own plate, mug, and bowl. Join us every afternoon from Noon - 3PM from Wednesday, June 11th through Friday, June 13th for fun on the wheel. After the pottery has been bisque-fired, your child can choose to return on Wednesday, June 18th to add some colorful glaze to their masterpieces before showcasing and picking them up at the art show happening at 4PM on Friday, June 20th. In  this 4-day clay hand building camp your child will experience the magic  of transforming "mud" into art with a variety of fun and functional  projects such as fantasy animals, slab masks, pinch pots and more! 

Please call (830) 875-6282 to  sign up for the Kids Clay Camp. Our class sizes are small, so please  register early. $150.00 per child is required to register.

 For  my Monday kid classes I would extrude some hollow shapes and we would  turn them into animals or planters.  Have them use underglaze the same  day.  Then all you have to do is bisque and clear glaze them. It’s fast  and has minimal hands on time 

 We  make mushroom houses, gnomes, pinch pot animals….there’s a ton of  projects that take less than 2 hours. We let them paint them with stroke  and coat on wet clay. (Use a hairdryer to help with coats) that’s  really amazing of your studio. Maybe post here where you are and someone  close would volunteer.
